We will be retiring at the end of June, 2013. We have had 30 years of incredible children, parents, staff, and joy of Montessori. It is hard to stop, but new adventures await us.We thank everyone who has influenced us over the years, and especially the children who have been our driving force. Peace be with you!Linda Karchmar and Ron Cameron

We went on our annual Market trip last Thursday, possibly the most beautiful day of the Fall! We got our pumpkin to carve, and some of the vendors gave us gourds and baby pumpkins! We also got a great discount on an inukshuk for our classroom.
Afterwards, we went to City Park for some romping and running! What a fantastic day!
The children are looking forward to Halloween!

We started with rain! But the first day of school went very well, the children went right to work like they never left! All children starting today are returning from last year. New children are eased in one at a time.
A lesson on our new “tasting” activity. I will be changing the foods to taste every few days. The purpose of this is to introduce children to new foods, and to encourage them to taste foods they think they won’t like.

Today is Dr. Montessori’s birthday! She was born in Italy in 1870, and was Italy’s first female physician. She went on to create the most wonderful educational model for all children, which is still going strong all over the world!
Here is Dr. Montessori surrounded by children in a Montessori class. She is with her son, Mario. I had the pleasure of meeting Mario Montessori, and he even signed my AMI Montessori Diploma!
